Holidays and School Closures

2025 - 2026 School Year

What to Bring Daily

Ensuring your child has everything to make their day go smooth!

  • Water bottle

  • Lunch box with healthy fresh foods for your children to choose from. Please avoid packaged and highly processed foods.

  • Extra set of clothes (shirt, pants, undies) and an extra warm layer for our late afternoon Los Osos breeze.

  • Diaper or Pull-ups if child uses them

  • For our napping children, please bring one familiar blanket, pillow and soft lovey for their little resting nest.

Our mainly outdoor program continues in light rain, but we have a warm indoor play area when Mother Nature needs us to come inside.

Pick Up and Drop off

Morning Drop-Off: Enter through our front gate, latch it completely and please be mindful not to park in front of neighbors' homes or driveways. Walk with your child along our garden pathway to the back and check in with a teacher before leaving.

Hugs and goodbyes are important! A sweet hug and a message about who will be picking them up helps your child feel safe and secure. If your little one is having trouble saying goodbye, our teachers are happy to help with extra hugs or by leading them straight into an engaging activity.

Afternoon Pick-Up: Please arrive on time as late fees apply for pick-ups. Check in with a teacher and gather your child's backpack, water bottle, and any special art projects to take home.

Helpful Tips:

  • Consistent drop-off routines help children feel secure

  • Let us know if someone new will be picking up your child

  • Sunscreen and weather-appropriate clothing recommended

  • Label all personal items with your child's name

  • Brief updates about your child's day are shared at pick-up

For TK/Kindergarten families: Our van returns from school pickup around 1:00pm

Sick child policies

If your child is getting an immunization, please keep them home for 24 hours. Please allow your child to stay home and rest with any new illnesses so you can fully determine if they are well enough to attend school. Please do not send children to school with green or yellow mucus. With fevers and vomiting please wait 36 hours until there is no sign of either before returning to school. Hopefully with all families being diligent about this we can minimize the spread and effects on more families. Please communicate what’s going on as we are here to help if needed!
